Rock and Retreat part 2!
The idea for rock and retreat is simple-get together with strangers who aren’t really strangers (you have a mutual friend, music), have fun, get creative and enjoy a show!
I’m on the lookout for an ideal concert and venue for this year’s retreat (either Summer or Fall, details TBD). If you have a request, please email me! director@carolinamusictherapy.com

Tune In and Chill Out: Women's Wellness Music Group
Feeling stressed and struggling to take time for yourself?
Connect with like minded women and practice music based approaches for self expression, relaxation, and FUN!
We all know the importance of regular self care.. as the saying goes, you can’t pour from an empty cup. However, making time for such practices can be a challenge, as can finding those approaches that are helpful for you (especially if you’re experiencing high stress levels or burnout).
Setting aside intentional time for these practices, connecting with peers, and having fun in the process can boost your success in this journey.
Benefits of managing stress with healthy coping mechanisms can include:
Better sleep
Elevated mood
Decreased tension
Increased immune system functioning
Improved relationships
Sessions will be led by Alison Hughey, MT-BC and will include techniques such as drumming, music assisted relaxation and breathwork to help you tend to your nervous system and mental wellness. No musical experience or “ability” is needed, and you’re always welcome to participate at your own pace.
Class fee: $150 for six group sessions
This group will meet weekly on Fridays, 4:30-5:30 between September 22 and November 10, 2023 (we will not meet on October 21). We will meet in the music therapy clinic at Converse University in Blackman Music Building (210b).
